About PayCalc UK
PayCalc UK provides free, accurate financial calculators and plain-English guides for people living and working in the United Kingdom. Our goal is simple: help you understand your money without jargon, sign-ups, or hidden costs.
What we offer
Our calculators cover the everyday financial questions UK households face:
- Take-home pay — income tax, National Insurance, student loan and pension deductions
- Mortgage repayments — monthly costs, total interest and loan-to-value
- Pension projection — retirement pot growth with tax relief and employer contributions
- Savings — compound interest on regular and lump-sum saving
- Universal Credit — estimated monthly entitlement
Alongside each calculator we publish a guide explaining how the underlying system works, so you can understand not just the number, but why it is what it is.
Our approach to accuracy
Every calculator is built on official figures published by HMRC, DWP and other UK government sources. We update our rates each tax year, and we verify our formulas against official calculators where they exist. When a figure is an estimate or simplification, we say so clearly.
What we are not
PayCalc UK provides information and illustrative calculations only. We are not financial advisers, accountants, or mortgage brokers, and nothing on this site is personal financial advice. For decisions about your money, we always recommend speaking to an appropriately qualified professional. See our disclaimer for full details.
Independence
Our calculators are free to use. We may display advertising to cover the cost of running the site, but advertisers do not influence our calculations, guides, or the figures we publish.
